i actually have the hair style you're talking about. what i ask for is a shoulder length cut with layers and side bangs. however, i also ask them to razor the front of the cut and make the layers choppy. (no joke. i ask them to make it distorted). they may give you a funny look at first because its not "polished" but it feels lighter and looks great when straightened!
