If you were a hair dresser...?

...and a customer asked you to change their hair style/dye their hair to the point where they looked completely different because they were running from the law, could you be arrested for "hiding" a criminal?

Would you do it?

If you were a hair dresser...?

If you knew that it was to defeat an arrest - it could be aiding and abetting - but it is a stretch.

If you were a hair dresser...?

sure, i would cut their hair... as i was phoning the police. lol.

anytime you know someone who committed a serious criminal act and don't report them, you are committing a crime (aiding and abeding).

id make sure it was true before i went that far, they could be joking.

If you were a hair dresser...?

First thing to understand... When being charged with a criminal act, intent must be proven for conviction. If the prosecution can prove that YOU used your skill to change someone's hair for the Purpose of eluding the law, then yes. Given that it would be your normal profession, such special intent would be practically impossible to prove on its own merit.

Even if they admitted to you that they were trying to hide, it's not in your job description as a hair dresser or civilian to determine the validity of their statement. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT a crime for the simple failure to report someone to the police, nor even to report a crime.

If you were a hair dresser...?

probably not unless they paid me heaps and it depends what their going to b arrested for

If you were a hair dresser...?

You could be charged with aiding and abetting, and you must be one hell of a good hairdresser. Wish I still had some for you to try it on me, number 1 shears don't leave much.

And you really aren't hiding the felon unless the police came to your shop and asked you if they were there or have you seen them and you had them in a back room or basement and lied.

Pretty good question for this time of day on here.

If you were a hair dresser...?

1. Only if they told you that's why they wanted the haircut. And then, you'd probably have to lie about it to the cops for them to want to take you to jail for it.

2. Hell yes!

If you were a hair dresser...?

No you could not be arrested.

After all, you are just doing a job. :D
