My bleached hair?

Hi

My mom bleaches my hair. She does a really good job. My mom has a friend that is a hair dresser so my mom learned everything from her pretty much.

Anyway, my mom bleached my hair. But now, I kinda want my hair to be a pretty rich brown color. So I was talking to my mom and was asking her if she could do it. My mom said

"No, if i put brown in your hair, it will turn green!!!" Then I was thinking about Hillary Duff and Ashlee Simpson, they got brown hair! I asked my mom about that and she said

"Well you have to go to a salon and they have to do all this complicated stuff, just leave your hair the way it is!" I know my mom wants me to leave my hair the way it is. So is my mom lying? Can i just do it at home or is my mom right?

thank you!!!

From the moment that you color your hair - it will never act "normally" to future colorings. Processed hair has all sorts of problems when going from light and processed to dark.

It often has to happen in multiple stages.

A professional colorist is the only way to go if you do NOT want to risk a hair disaster.

Take it from a bleached blonde who has experienced the GREEN by her own hands, herself! You do NOT want to go there.

Trust your mom. She wants the best for you.

Get it professionally done.

Peace.

It will not turn green

it depends on the dye you use and how well you do it. some brown dyes have green tints in them but some have red tints in them. you could try dying it yourself but you would better off to get it done by a professional.they can sometimes take the dye out of your hair that you have before and it can help it from turning green. it just depends on how you do it. you're mom could be right or wrong but she probably just doesnt want you to change your hair. i know my moms like that too. hopefully this helps

It will not turn green. I've dyed my hair blonde, red, brown, green, blue, purple, you name it. (and im not a natural blonde. I have black hair) Starting with blond hair is actually a good way to go.

If anything, bleaching your hair will give your brown a brighter, more clearer tone. You and your mom have nothing to worry about. But if you're still not convinced, talk to a professional stylist/colorist. Im not knocking your mom's skills in any way, but ask a pro; they'll give you a straight-up answer

They have to chemically strip your hair and then apply the dye.

Dunno how old you are but please find better celebrities to look up to -- but considering that Duff and Simpson are celebrities and are extremely wealthy, they would be able to afford a chemical strip done by high-end salon beauticians without a problem. For the rest of us, it is not quite as simple.
