My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

Keep in mind that he is in downtown Toronto and he is a very good hair stylists.

My hair is pretty short. My curls, when pulled straight, hang down to my eyes.

I'm just worried this is way too over priced. If this is reasonable for a good salon, than I'm comfortable shelling it out.

There will soon be a line where the unstraightened hair meets the chemically treated. That takes about a year though for it to be above your ears. It will never fade out though! OMG!!!! yes absolutely. what it would cost her for the stuff needed to do it would be around 50-100 dollars. it may very well be a good salon but paying 5x the amount what it costs the salon (which they probably get in quantities at a lower cost) is absolutely ridiculous. especially being that your hair is shorter. i could see if your hair was extremely thick and down to your butt-but its not. i would call other places and see what their prices are. ......i mean its not like your hair will be straight forever-eventually you will have to get it redone.-your roots need to get redone after awhile no matter what anyone tells you. you get about an inch or two and you have to get your roots done-otherwise you will look ridiculous. i have done this procedure before.

Your hair sounds short, but the starting place at most salons is about 475, so its not 'overpriced', just expensive.
