Hair dressers help! my 2 yr old has lice and i did all the precautionary measures (shampoo, metal ni

i read you can use a flat iron that will kill the adults adn the nits (cuz of the heat) HOWEVER shes TWO!! she has more hair than average 2 yr old (down tomiddle of her back and its thick and wavy) but silky and beautiful and she gets sooo many compliments.... i do NOT want to hurt her hair... should i try to do a quick flat iron for precautionary measures or no?

ooh she soo cuute! I would suggest the peroxide or just go to the doctor because they will perscribe the best lice shampoo for your daughter and make sure its not too harsh. and also, just bleach all her pillow cases and get her clothes cleaned veeeeery good so she doesnt get it again. dont flat iron it though.

NO!! Put mayonnaise on her hair. Lather it in.

That should help then run the nit comb in it.

Leave the mayonnaise on for about 2 hours. Complicated for a 2 yr old but mayonnaise wont hurt her so let her play in it in the tub or something. lol

You also have to wash anything she has been in contact with....anything cloth....bedding, clothes, couch, pillows...She is two and for sure will not stand for the hair straightener for too long and personally I have never heard of this method....not saying it does not work I just never heard of it.... The idea of killing these horrible little creatures is to smother them....stuffed toys for a week in garbage bags etc. A lot of people use mayonnaise and a cap on the head for a few hours....first off it is not a chemical,,,, Now you also have to figure out where she is getting them from and to the source....Day care.....Baby sitters.....Brothers, sisters, kids you care for.....She is getting them from someone....

We, as hairdressers, are by law, not allowed to treat this condition

There are many creams and shampoos desighned to get rid of lice and kill their eggs too. Try "Full Marks solution", Or "Headrin". Always check the bottle to make sure it's ok for small children. Be vigalent!! after using the lice cream continue to check you little girl for lice every day. Until you're 100% sure they are gone. Try to find out where she got them too, so you can prevent her from catching them again straight away.

Good luck.

When i was in college doing hairdressing, i was told using just peroxide on the hair kills them, dont mix it with a colour, just put a little neat in you hands and rub it into the hair, rinse it after a couple of minutes and watch them drop off.

Ive never actually experienced nits, but my manager has and reccomends the same thing.

hellow

this is a very common occourance at this age.

i recommend you to go to a chemist shop and buy the medicine called: "ascabiol" let her keep that liquid in her hair for one night and wash it next morning and use it 1ce every two weeks.

another medicine called" licel" if also available can be good

both the medicines are good and the lice will go away with no hair damage

dont worry
