the only reason i have dark hair is because i dyed it but my hair is naturally light. so it will look normal i just dont know if the colour will go over it!

The colorist will have to remove not only your natural pigment but the color you put on your hair as well. This can be done, but the process will be lengthy and possibly damaging to your hair taking into consideration (1) how dark your hair is now and (2) how light you are wanting to end up.
Get an appointment for a consultation. Usually the charge for this is minimal if anything at all.

nooooo i dye my hair by myself trust me i have experience if you get it done at a hair salon no matter which one u go to it will NEVER come out the color u want u dont have to be a pro to color ur own hair just by the box and read the directions.
