Calling all hair dressers ! hair dressers only if possible...?

i just highlighted my hair, with those home kits. it came out good, but i have blonde hair and the highlights werent blonde enough to show up in my hair. i want to do it again with the same kit and leave it in longer, but my mom said something about how if you put in two products just a few days later it could cause my hair to fall out. is that true?

your hair will break off and also be very dry, especially since you are using lightener.

I would wait a couple of weeks and condition your hair really well everytime you wash it. you might even want to consider a leave in conditioner.

it won't make your hair fall out per say, but it can make your hair horribly week and thin.

its definitely not good for your hair. you should wait 2 weeks.

it wont fall out but might get really dry and snap off in places... leave it a while, it might lighten up just from washing it

the product that comes in the home highlighting kits isn't color, it's bleach. bleach can be very damaging if it's overused, applied incorrectly, or left on too long. depending on how long you leave the product will determine how light the highlightes get. if you can barely see your highlights, chances are you didn't leave it on long enough. the problem with reapplying, however, is now that your hair has already been processed with bleach, bleaching AGAIN could cause more harm than good, but not necessarily. i never suggest at home color kits, especially if you dont have any knowledge about what exactly it is that you're doing. you could try it again, but keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get too light, and every couple of minutes, try pulling on a piece that has bleach on it to make sure it's not getting damaged. if you can feel it breaking off as you pull, its definetly time to wash it out!!!!
