go to sally beauty supply buy the bleach and blonde color bleach first then put color.the result may not be achieve as going to salon because they have hair dryer to make the color lighter.

as a hairdresser, I would say DON'T DO IT! this is not really a process that you can do yourself, you will either end up very yellow or bright ginger.

go to a hairdresser, just save up for a while and have it done properly.

they sell many hair bleaches at the drug stores and supermarkets, but in all honesty you should really save the money up and get it done by a professional. especially if your hair is dark brown.

Im not a hairdresser but heres my advice. If you have dark brown hair and you want to go blonde, start off with a lighter brown. After 2 weeks go to a dark blonde. Then a couple days try getting a lighter blonde or even a bleach blonde kit

i think i would go to a hair dresser, but i dont think the color is a major difference for it to not turn out right, like having black hair going to blonde. i think it would work, but i would start out with chunky hilights.

I'm a hairdresser, and I really REALLY would not recommend you doing this yourself.

Using a product from a chemist/supermarket would only give you slight lift, and it would give a ginger tone rather than a blonde, the only way to achieve a true blonde on dark brown hair would be to pre-lighten first, and this really should be done by a qualified hairdresser as a whole manner of things could go wrong.

If you really cannot afford it, why don't you contact a local hairdressing college, or a hairdressers that have trainee's and offer to be a model, you will pay a fraction of the cost, and you will have a qualified tutor over seeing the whole process.

Ok, I know I'm gonna get murdered by every hairdresser out there for this, but (depending on how blond you want to go and how little you care about the health of your hair) this is my method. I've gone from chocolate brown (natural) to paper white in four steps all with products obtained at Sally's.

1. quick blue bleaching powder and 40vol. developer

2. Follow up with toner of desired blond color (platinum for me) *not for the tender scalped

3. Wait two days

4. Repeat steps one and two.

There, your hair will be thouroughly blonde and definitely a little fried. I reccomend an intense VO5 hot oil treatment and lots of conditioning to return some life into it. Not the best way, but it'll do it on a budget. I'd have to say though, you're better off with a hairstylist.

Bleaching your hair completely can be tricky business. And then choosing the shade of blond that's right for your coloring can be difficult as well.

Before attempting this yourself, consider finding a beauty college in your area that could do this for you but at a greatly discounted cost.

Another option would be to add some highlights, especially around your face, which you could do at home with a kit and might give you much the same effect.

If you really want it full blond and must do it at home, find a friend or relative who has done this herself and ask her to help you with it.

Personally, I am a hair dresser and I can not give you a easy way to achieve this look. If you mess up its just going to cost you even more to fix it. Not to mention you have dark roots so you will have to touch it up at least every 5-6 weeks. Good luck.

There is a bleach named Super Blue (found at beauty supplies) follow the instructions be sure to not apply on your scalp or it will burn.

I highly suggest having someone assist you or you will have patches of dark hair where you cant see or reach the hair. Make sure it's applied evenly and leave it till you get the desired shade your looking for. For a nice blonde let it get to a light orange shade or a dark blonde shade

Then apply a blonde color of your choice on top of the bleached hair so that you will get an even color leave it for 15-25 min then wash and condition it.

Do not wash your hair for a couple of days prior to bleaching that way your natural oils will protect your scalp.

Don't do it! It's nearly impossible to get your dark hair lightened to a desirable blonde in one application. If you plan on BLEACHING all of your hair, it may come out blotchy because of hair texture or dryness. This is just not a good idea to do yourself. Also, have you heard of the term "San Antonio blonde?" Think about it. Please talk to a professional, and no, the people that work at Sally's aren't qualified. If they were, they would be doing hair.

Volounteer as a Model for Trainee Hairdressers either in a Salon or at a college. This is usually Free or Very cheap. They are Very well supervised and the chances of something going wrong is Very Very Slim.
