Do hair dressers get paid alot?

Do hair dressers get paid alot of money because im really freaking out about my future and im training to be a hairdresser but will that be good enough to get me through life? =(

Do hair dressers get paid alot?

define a lot. How well do you want to get through life? its all relative babe.

Do hair dressers get paid alot?

umm maybe not i duno how much they get but i dont think its a lot you might have to wait a while for a house

i think that they make an ok amount, but not a lot. it gives you some options though. i think it is pretty steady work so you can do it almost anywhere. it can support you if you are working through school. or if you decide to stick with being a hair dresser you could open your own salon then you could make more.

enjoy what you are doing right now. and don't freak out about the future.

As said previously, it all depends on what you want out of life! If you want to live really comfortably with a 4-bedroomed house, 3 kids and a dog? Then I would say that on a hairdressers wage, this may be slightly less comfortable than on a teacher's, for example. If it is what you really want to do, then go for it. You seem to be young enough to be able to re-evaluate what you are doing in several years time and if things are working out still, then great :] I am a great believer in sticking to a job that makes you smile!

Trainee hairdressers do not get paid much, this is where most people start out their careers; seeing to clients, offering them refreshments, cleaning up, doing the odd cut and blow-dry... like in most jobs, as you progress and develop experience, your pay increases.

You could even hit the big-time! Look at Andrew Collinge, Adee from "The Salon" on UK TV... Nicky Clarke! All of the big brands you see on your hairdryers! :] Put your heart into what you want to do, and anything is possible

you have to work your worth, because your pay will be based on how much you are in demand. good luck

heya...i'm a hairdresser in the UK

dpends if ur doing it as an apprentice or at college...

if u r doing soley @ college, try find a salon which will let u do 1 or 2 days a week work exp...b it paid or not...all salon experience will help your training...

alot of salons dont like stylists who have been trained only @ college and minimal salon exp, but most will b happy to help train you up.

also learning things like hair extensions can help...me personally...i did my training @ college, and had minimal salon exp...so from personal exp salons prefer salon exp. but i had the opportunity to learn hair extensions...and for tht i can charge up to 鎷?00...obviously it varies...but 鎷?00 is on the hair...and 鎷?00 profit.

also theres opportunties to do cruise lines...and if u you start going down the hair extension route...b worth doing as many methods as possible and mayb learning afro hair or barbering. (some colleges teach barbaring seperately).

hope it all goes ok! email me (devilrachel4eva@yahoo.com or devilrachel4eva@hotmail.com) if u got ne questions! :o)

If you are starting out, may be low, but in time, clientele, you can work you're way up to popular hairdresser. My friends significant other is making well over 65k , he is booked up for 2-3 mos at times., owns his own salon., but it does take hard work, work sometimes long hours, be under apprenticeship. Keep in mind , mainstream salons , pay may not be much at all..'Cept for tips, benefits aren't to well either.

Good luck..stay vigilant...

It will take a while, but once you're through with school, get into a really good salon and learn from the pro's. If you really enjoy doing hair, you will build a clientele base and after that happens you will make money. It does take time and effort, but it is fun too. Many of your clients become friends and you'll look forward to their appointments and making them look great! It's like any job, if you apply yourself, you'll do well! Good Luck.
