Now it's the same way it was when my parents were getting a divorce as a little girl. Its in a bob about one inch below my ears and it has no layers and goes straight around my head.

evey time I look in the mirror It just reminds me of a time period of when I was really depressed and going though a lot in my life. I can't stand looking at myself. What can I do. I don't have much money. I had hair in layers about 4 inches past my sholders and now I have hair I can't fit in a ponytail. I don't want to wear it half up because I have big ears. What should I do???

I think you should talk to the hair dresser about why she did not do as you asked, and see if you can get a refund.

And then, I would suggest saving up some money each paycheck while your hair is growing out, and, as soon as you have enough money, go to a DIFFERENT hairdresser (I would talk to your coworkers and see who they go to) and ask her to fix it as much as possible... discuss your options with the new hairdresser.

I'm sorry about what happened to you... I would use some bobby pins or clips at the time being to just pin your hair back.

You should have angrily confronted the hair dresser and demanded to know why she didn't follow your directions.

go shorter? get more layers? color it? extensions? wig? my hair is 4 inches short.. its very hard to deal with.. and i suggest talking with the hair dresser.

I bought some very nice synthetic ones for about $75

That happened to me once; woman cut off a lot more than I said to. I went in for a 3 inch trim and she cut off 8 inches; didn't even layer it like I had asked. I had written a check and once I got home I called the bank and canceled it. Sadly there's nothing you really can do unless you want to get it cut even shorter. Wear a wig or a hat, get extensions, or else just wait it out until it grows back.
