What should I ask the hair dresser for something like this?

I'm getting my hair cut in a couple weeks. A week after I get my Sedu flat iron :D

Anyway, I've chosen a cut and kind of have to sneak it in to the hair dresser because my mother doesn't like me having a lot of hair cut off at once.

What would I tell the hair dresser to achieve something like this? It has to be able to be tied back into a ponytail (I have to flip it up into a hair net and into a helmet for horse riding) so I have to tell her that too.

ok tell her to cut you hair shoulder length with a few layers starting at your jaw line and that you want heavy side bangs

i dont know if you want the streaks, but if you do just tell her you want blonde streaks throughout your hair and for them to go through the bangs too.

Take her the pictures. That's your best bet, because her idea of "scene hair" may not be the same as these pictures or your idea...

Why dont you just print out those pictures and bring them with you when you get your hair cut. I too ride horses and you might want to go at least shoulder lenght or longer to make sure you can put it in the ponytail.

bring in the 2 pictures and show them to the hairdresser. most of them know how to work from pictures. and the style looked long enough to put in a ponytail, as long as you don't get too many layers in it.

basically, just tell her exactly what you told us. she'll know what to do. she did go to college to do this stuff, after all.

i am a stylist and its best described simply as shoulder length with short razored layers and a razored side bang... make sure you schedule with someone who knows how to do a razor cut because thats the only way you will get that effect!

You should be able to show him/her both photos and they should be able to go from there. When I cut my hair short, all I had to do was bring the photo in. If your hair stylist can't figure things out from a photo, you really need a new stylist.

By the way, you may want to reconsider if your mom is not okay with this style. If she doesn't like the photo, what do you think she's going to do when you traipse from the beauty salon with that haircut on your head?

I'm a nursing asstaint and i got that same haircut... i also needed to keep it back in a ponytail for work, but that was impossiblethe sides always came down on my face, keep that in mind, but like most have said bring the photos..or look through the books there see if they have a picute of the style if youcan't print is out. But you should talk to you mom about it...just tell her it'll grow back, but it is your hair.
